Online therapy

Online Therapy for Adults in Washington

If you're looking for a therapist in Washington state and would rather do it from home than drive across town, online therapy with a licensed provider is a legitimate, well-supported way to do this work — not a lesser version of it. I'm Samar Farange, a licensed therapist based in Seattle, and I see adults across Washington state entirely online, in English or Farsi.

How it works

Sessions happen over video or phone, on a private, encrypted platform — whatever you're more comfortable with. You'll need a private place to talk and a reasonably stable internet connection; that's about it. Most of what makes therapy work — consistency, honesty, a real working relationship — translates just fine to a screen.

Why people reach out

What it costs

Individual sessions are 50 minutes; the initial 20-minute consult is free. I'm out-of-network with insurance but provide a monthly superbill for reimbursement. Full pricing is on the fees & insurance page.

Do you offer in-person sessions? +

Not currently — sessions are online only right now, for anyone physically located in Washington state.

Can you see me if I'm outside Washington? +

No — I'm licensed in Washington, so sessions need to happen while you're physically in the state.

Is online therapy actually as effective as in-person? +

For most of what I treat, yes — the research is reassuring. What matters most is consistency and having a private, quiet place to sit for the session.
