Online Anxiety Therapy in Washington

If anxiety has started running the show — the racing thoughts at 2am, the dread before ordinary things, the sense that something bad is always about to happen — you don't have to white-knuckle it alone. I'm Samar Farange, a licensed therapist based in Seattle, and I offer online anxiety therapy to adults anywhere in Washington state, in English or Farsi.

Most people I see for anxiety aren't in crisis. They're functioning — going to work, showing up for people — while carrying something exhausting underneath. That's enough reason to start.

Who this is for

  • Generalized worry that doesn't let up, even when things are objectively fine
  • Panic or physical anxiety symptoms — racing heart, tight chest, trouble sleeping
  • Anxiety tied to a specific situation: a health scare, a job change, a big decision
  • Perfectionism or control that's become exhausting to maintain
  • Anxiety that shows up as irritability, avoidance, or trouble making decisions

What sessions look like

Early on, we map out what sets your anxiety off and how it actually behaves — most anxiety has patterns once you can see them from the outside. From there, the goal usually isn't to eliminate the feeling entirely; it's building your capacity to act alongside it, so anxiety stops being the thing deciding what you do each day. I wrote more about this shift in When Calming Down Isn't the Goal.

Is online therapy effective for anxiety? +

Yes — anxiety is one of the conditions telehealth research supports most consistently. What matters more than the format is showing up regularly and having a private place to talk.

How long does anxiety therapy usually take? +

It depends on what's driving it. Some people need a focused few months around a specific stressor; others work on long-standing patterns for longer. We'll check in on progress regularly rather than assuming a fixed timeline.

If anxiety is the reason you're here, the first 20-minute call is free, and there's no pressure to continue after it.
